Teamwork and The GGX Challenge

Working together towards a common goal is what teamwork is all about. Helping your teammates, encouraging them, picking them up if they fall behind and pushing them to new levels when they need to be pushed....these are the qualities of good teammates.

Whether it's a sports team or a group of people working on a project together at work, school or in the gym, being a member of a team is a special thing. Learning to depend, trust and support each other are incredibly valuable lessons and usually the winning teams have teammates who understand and embrace these attributes.

During our GGX - Gold's Group Exercise Class Challenge, teams were formed to work together to take classes, get points and help each other reach higher levels of fitness, while having fun. The challenge is for people to work together as a team to make all this happen and after just a few days, the fun, spirit and excitement of being part of a team are all there.

The challenge is being led by the amazing team of instructors at Gold's Gym who work together on stage to create incredible workouts and experiences for everyone taking class and pursuing their fitness goals.

Whether you are on a challenge team or flying solo, we are all part of the Gold's Gym team, where fitness is a lifestyle and the fun and rewards of participating are worth all of the hard work and effort.

Great Coaching Leads to Great Fitness Results

In sports, we always wonder when teams win......was it the players or was it the coach?

Having been an athlete my entire life, I have played on many different teams and had quite a few different coaches. Each coach had a different style, different philosophy and their own unique way of doing things. Some of my teams were very successful and some were not. Some teams had really good players and some did not. What made the difference in why some teams won and some didn't?

There is no real easy answer here, but there was a common thread to what I consider great coaching that I believe led to my own individual success as well as team success. The coaches who understood and educated on the mental and physical aspects of the sport in such a way that allowed us to be well prepared and be put in a position to be successful were the ones who had the most wins. The common threads were: preparation, education and motivation. When we felt prepared with a game plan, understood what we needed to do and why and were motivated and excited to play, we usually won.

A great personal trainer is really just like a great sports coach. Fitness results are hard to come by on your own and just like a truly great coach, a trainer needs to be able to prepare, educate and motivate their clients so they can get as many "wins" as possible.

Find a trainer that can do these things for you and you will get great fitness results and be part of a winning team!

The $75,000 Gold's Gym Challenge - Why It's Important

The $75,000 Gold's Gym Challenge is all about getting people to focus on a goal and do their best to reach for it. It's what life is all about. The challenge is really something that can be done anytime of year, although our official challenge runs January - May. Anyone who enters the challenge is a winner in my book as it's all about the journey. Of course, the chance to win some cash prizes never hurts, but how much would YOU PAY to accomplish the goals you have set out to do? One of the things I really love about the Gold's Gym family is the core of what we believe in, which is helping people accomplish their fitness goals and being there to support them in any manner they need us. This is what makes Gold's Gym such a special place and we wish everyone who is taking the challenge, or any challenge for that matter, the very best of luck for success and happiness and a wonderful and rewarding journey along the way.
